For a long time, Song Son Temple in Bim Son has been famous as a sacred place, attracting many people from Thanh Hoa as well as from all over the country to offer incense, perform rituals and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery. Therefore, the folk song has been passed down: "Song Temple is the most sacred in Thanh Hoa". Song Son Temple is also associated with the legend of Holy Mother Lieu Hanh, a mythical figure revered in Vietnamese folk beliefs. Song Son Temple, formerly known as Sung Tran Temple, was built during the reign of King Le Hien Tong (1740 - 1786) on Co Dam land, Ha Duong commune, Ha Trung district, Tong Son prefecture. Now Song Son Temple belongs to Bac Son ward, Bim Son town. In 1993, the temple was recognized as a National Historical Relic by the Ministry of Culture - Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). Song Son Temple worships Mother Lieu Hanh, one of the "Four Immortals" of Vietnamese folklore.
