Introduction to Khanh Quang Ancient Pagoda – A Historical and Cultural Relic Khanh Quang Pagoda, located in Trach Lam Hamlet, Quang Trung Commune, Bim Son Town, Thanh Hoa Province, about 20 km north of Thanh Hoa City, is a venerable pagoda known for its profound historical and cultural significance. Built in the 17th century during the Trinh–Nguyen conflict, the pagoda serves not only as a place of Buddhist worship but also as a site tied to stories of love and the growth of Buddhist culture in Vietnam. On October 26, 1995, Khanh Quang Pagoda was officially recognized as a Provincial Historical and Cultural Relic under Decision No. 366/QĐ-VHTT by the Department of Culture and Information, now the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Thanh Hoa Province. The pagoda is also renowned as a center of Buddhist teaching by two eminent Zen masters, Chuyet Chuyet and Minh Hanh. Zen Master Chuyet Chuyet, originally from China, arrived in Vietnam with his disciple Minh Hanh in 1630 to propagate Buddhism. Khanh Quang Pagoda, located in Trach Lam Hamlet, Quang Trung Commune, Bim Son Town, Thanh Hoa Province, about 20 km north of Thanh Hoa City, is a venerable pagoda known for its profound historical and cultural significance.
