People who are passionate about preserving and developing Muong ethnic culture

If we talk about people who are passionate about researching, collecting, and understanding the Muong ethnic culture in Thanh Hoa, we must mention the folklore researcher Cao Son Hai from Cam Thuy district (currently living in Thanh Hoa city) and the poet Pham Vuong Anh from Ngoc Lac district.

Regarding the folklore researcher Cao Son Hai, he has dozens of works, not to mention poems, poetry anthologies, and then participated in collecting and compiling the folklore of ethnic minorities in Thanh Hoa province. He was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts with a series of 3 works: "Wedding songs of Muong people in Thanh Hoa", "Pon Pong eng chang ceremony" (bilingual), and the poem "Nang Ut Lot - Dao Hoi Lieu" (Muong ethnic love song, bilingual).

The folklore researcher Cao Son Hai was born and raised in Voong village, Cam Tu commune, Cam Thuy district, Thanh Hoa province. He has held many positions such as: Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province, Chief of the Office of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, National Assembly delegate, Member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education.

No matter what position he held, he always completed his tasks excellently. Now, he is old and weak, but he is still passionately researching the folk culture of his people.

Poet Pham Vuong Anh (Vuong Anh) was born in Lu village, Quang Trung commune, Ngoc Lac district, Thanh Hoa province. He is considered an outstanding poet of the Muong people in particular and poets of ethnic minorities in the mountainous region in general. Up to now, poet Vuong Anh has had nearly ten collections of poems and epic poems such as: "Sao chop nui" (epic poem, 1968), "Trang hung hammock" (poetry, 1973), "Tinh con" (poetry, 1978), "Den hen" (poetry, 1983), "Hoa Li-pa yeu" (poetry, 1989), "Ruou muon" (poetry, 1993), "Hon gong chuong nui" (epic poem, 2008)... He is known nationwide as the co-author of the epic poem "De dat de nuoc" and won the Second Prize of the Literature and Arts Newspaper Poetry Contest in 1969; the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2017. Up to now, he has had over 50 books.

Poet Vuong Anh used to hold the position of Vice President of Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association, Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Culture and Information... Throughout his life, in addition to completing well the tasks assigned by the Party and State, he always cared about preserving and promoting the cultural values ​​of the Muong ethnic group.

The issue of preserving and developing the Muong ethnic group's culture is also currently being raised and needs more attention, that is, there are not many young Muong people who are passionate about researching, preserving and developing their ethnic culture. Meanwhile, folk culture researcher Cao Son Hai and poet Pham Vuong Anh are now old.
